Wow, it's been a while since I've posted! I have been very busy sewing, can you imagine. I think I have a dozen projects that I haven't taken pictures of that I need to get on my blog so you can see some more windows!
Here's one small window that was fun and very functional. It is an operating roman shade with a whimsical valance. Enjoy!

Framing a view
Here is a long, 16-foot, valance I made to frame a grouping of family room windows. This home's family room has a great view of a green belt and there is no need for privacy. The valance offers another texture to the room and brings the eye up to the colors in the fabric, making the room feel larger.
I added some layers of trim to the edge of the valance to give interest. The valance is a simple rectangle double the window width and hung with rings and clips from an iron rod.

Baby Boy's Room!!
Little guy is on the way.... and with two windows in his bright room, some blackout drapes do the trick. Now this is the perfect napping room, day or night. The fabric is a navy cotton with a nice texture. The rods are wood and match the crib. They are hung with hidden tabs on the back of the curtain so there are no rings to buy. That saves some moo-la. Sleep well little man.

Calming Master Bedroom
Here's a fun queen headboard my friend and I made together. We used covered buttons to tuft it. The stripes are bold, but still neutral. And I love the pops of blue color on the pillows.
This master bedroom has a corner with not one, but TWO window seats. Not sure if you can tell in this picture that those are window seats. I made the drapes. I love the calming effect of the tone on tone drapes against the wall color. Very subtle. The drapes are weighted in the corners with drapery weights, and lined with thermal liner. Extra fabric may be used to cover the little ottoman....
These are single panels with a drapery heading tape on the top which allows us to use drapery pins to attach them to the rings. The wooden rods are mahogany, and add a lot of richness to the room. The rod is also fantastic in that there's an "elbow" for the corner, which helps with these tight corners between windows.
